New Student Registration for the 2019-2020 school year:
New Watertown/Oakville residents who have a child ready to enter the Watertown Public Schools during the 19-20 School year are asked to fill out the following electronic registration data needed for your student to attend Watertown Public School. Please click the 19-20 Student Registration Form (do not fill out this form if your child is not starting at Watertown Public School before June 17, 2020)

Incoming 20-21 Watertown Parents, please fill out the following electronic registration form: 20-21 Registration Form to register your child for the 20-21 school year.
Create an account and then fill in the necessary registration data for your incoming student. This will save you time during the registration process for you and your student.
20-21 Kindergarten Information:
Watertown/Oakville residents who have a child ready to enter the public school kindergarten program are asked to register between 9:30 - 12:00 PM or 1:00 - 2:30 PM on January 27, 2020 - January 31, 2020, at John Trumbull Primary School, 779 Buckingham Street, Oakville, CT 06779.
Children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2020 will need to have reached their fifth birthday on or before January 1, 2021.
Parents should enter the school through the green doors on the preschool (left) side of the building. Office staff will assist parents in completing the necessary forms and making copies of the presented documents.
Parents should bring a copy of the child's birth certificate (large version) and evidence that the child and family are legal residents of Oakville/Watertown.
An informational meeting for parents is scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2020, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the gymnasium at John Trumbull Primary School.
Registration is NOT complete until you prove residency. Your child will not be assigned to t a class until we receive residency paperwork.
State law and the Board of Education policy state that a child is to be educated in the town in which he or she resides. It is illegal to misrepresent your place of residence for the purpose of gaining educational services. To ensure that those registering in our schools are legal residents of the Watertown Public Schools, parents in the towns of Oakville and Watertown are asked to provide documentation that proves residency.
Proof of Residency is listed below and must show the family’s name at the Watertown or Oakville address:
Rental agreement (signed by a landlord with contact information), or,
When one of the above documents is provided, no other documents are needed.
If the above documents cannot be provided, the following must be provided showing the family’s name and Watertown or Oakville address:
1. Current utility bill, telephone bill or
2. Driver’s license, car registration, AND a copy of personal property tax for the car from the Town of Watertown or Oakville,
3. AND two notarized signed affidavits of residency.
